The Butts and Other Bits from the Full Monty 2020

The concept of the hit film The Full Monty was given fresh life when ITV decided to recreate the all-male strip show to raise cancer awareness. (There’s an all-female line-up too, but can you really see us posting snaps of Coleen Nolan’s baps?)

This season saw Love Island’s Chris Hughes, X Factor’s Jake Quickdenden, retired gay rugby player Gareth Thomas, Hollyoaks’ Jamie Lomas and Diversity’s Perri Kiely.

Not only that, but this year’s show is on ice. Not quite as thin ice as our current economic state, but still.

It’s the first time we’ve seen Hughes ball sack onscreen without a doctor’s hand hanging off it.

Quickenden – who is no stranger to a thong – stuff his cakes into his new skimpy stage wear.

He’s also a known director, primarily for his most recent film The Fans (2020) which explores the crisis of masculinity caused by ‘Russian Section 28,’ banning positive representations of LGBTQ+ people among minors.

The film was nominated at the Oslo Film Festival 2020 for best cinematography. (Congrats!)

We thought the Netflix ballet thriller series might deliver some dark turns, but we were still surprised by racy scenes; which viewers have since described as “softcore porn”. And this is hands-down the most sexually fluid concept since Sense8.
